Founded in 1964, the Sterling Volunteer Rescue Squad (SVRS) is incorporated as The Sterling Park Rescue Squad, Inc., a non-profit, 501(c)(3) corporation providing basic and advanced pre-hospital life support; heavy and technical rescue; and water rescue services to Loudoun County, Virginia. Members are trained as paramedics, advanced emergency technicians and basic emergency medical technicians as well as in special mission areas, such as vertical rescue, vehicle extrication, structural collapse and rescue, and swift water and ice rescue.

The SVRS is one of the few seven day a week, 24 hour a day, 100% volunteer-operated Emergency Medical Service (EMS) agencies in Northern Virginia. We are located in the suburban community of Sterling, Virginia, about 25 miles northwest of Washington, DC. We operate out of three rescue stations, as an integrated element of the Loudoun County Fire and Rescue Combined System. Our three stations are Rescue Station 15 in Sterling Park, Rescue Station 25 in Cascades and Rescue Station 35 in Kincora.
